4 questions for Didier FERRER
What is your most memorable moment involving horses?
I have fond memories of being at the back of a truck to welcome the first young rider to arrive at the first international competition that I had organised in 2004; it was then that she let me know that she had driven 1,700 km to get there.
What do the World Equestrian Games represent to you?
The help that I can give the WEG is the next logical and yet unexpected step in my work as an organiser of equestrian events. They will also be the occasion to meet up with all the different riders I have met over the years at competitions that I’ve organised and to give them, as always, the
best possible service I can.
What particular challenge will you be up against in your discipline?
There are two:
- That everything is immediately perfect; that the riders and delegations are satisfied. We’ve got to get it right. The preparation work is really important.
- Making the most of the WEG in Normandy to promote dressage in France where it remains largely unknown.
How will we able to see that you have succeeded in your goals for the World Equestrian Games?
If the entire competition runs smoothly, that’s to say when we have proved the efficiency of all this planning and preparation in advance.
And, if we get instant positive feedback about the discipline of dressage from the public and media present.
