Friday 23 August 2013 is a symbolic date for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy. The countdown is showing 365 days to go until the equestrian event kicks off. With exactly a year to go until battle commences, where are we at in terms of the preparation for this premier 2014 sporting event in France? What projects are the organising committee prioritising? What will the major upcoming dates be? We get the expert lowdown from Laurent Beauvais and Fabien Grobon, respectively the President and CEO of the Alltech™ FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy.
18/08/2013 : Resultats of the CCI** Eventing competition - Eventing test event
The Eventing CCI ** competition organised as part of the preparatory events for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games ™ 2014 in Normandy crowned Italian Vittoria Panizzon on Merlots Magic. After the dressage (Friday) and Cross (Saturday) events held in the heart of beautiful Le Pin National Stud, the competition ended today with the Jumping event in Caen.
16/08/2013 : Results of the CEI2* Endurance event - Endurance test of Friday 16th August 2013
The CEI2* Endurance event organized as part of the preparatory events for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, took place today, Friday 16 August 2013 in the Manche. 58 competitors and their horses started the race at 6:30 in Sartilly for a 129 km journey in four loops from 22 to 38 km.

On Friday 19 July 2013, the countdown for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy displayed the round number of D – 400 before the event starts. That equates to a little over 13 months. In the meantime though, it’s proving to be a busy summer for the event’s organising committee, commencing with the official opening of the cross country course at Le Pin National Stud last Friday. Topping the current jobs’ list is the first phase of putting tickets on sale, the recruiting of volunteers and the coordinating of accommodation on offer to future visitors. We see the proof in facts and figures.
28/06/2013 : The Games' Road Tour has started !From 25 June to 8 December 2013, the Games’ Road Tour will set off on a unique “whistle-stop voyage” across Normandy, France and overseas, to showcase the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy to the World ! From Aachen to Paris via Canteleu, Le Pin National Stud, St Lô, Cabourg, Lyon, Lamotte-Beuvron, Barcelona, Burghley as well as Caen.... The preparation for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014 in Normandy has moved up to a whole new level. A very concrete level, with less than 450 days till the main event : the launch of ticket sales to attend the world's biggest equestrian competition due to be held from 23 August to 7 September 2014.
30/04/2013 : Volunteers, don't wait up !
The event may still seem a long way off, but the recruitment of volunteers for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy, hosted from 23 August to 7 September 2014, began a little over two weeks ago. And it has proven to be such a successful recruitment campaign that latecomers may well rue the day they waited too long before applying.
08/04/2013 : Volunteers, Club Normandie 2014, an Official Mascot-Time to get ready for the Games !
In 500 days time, Normandy will be living to the rhythm of the seventh edition of the biggest event in equestrian sports. To celebrate this symbolic date, the Organising Committee Normandy 2014 brought together its partners (including 23 delegations representing its Title Partner Alltech), the media, regional delegates and more. A lot of key issues were discussed today: the launch of the volunteers' program, Credit Agricole Normandie joing the Games as an official supplier, the Club Normandie 2014 opening to businesses, and of course Norman the mascot starting his duty !
15/03/2013 : National Federations get to discover the city of Caen
On Thursday 7 March, the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy Organising Committee welcomed eleven foreign delegations to a Venue Tour in Caen. This day-long meeting was the opportunity to update the delegates on the project’s progress and to show everyone around the future competition venues in the city : D’Ornano Stadium, the Zenith indoor arena, the Prairie Racecourse and the Exhibition Centre.
01/03/2013 : the first major companies to join the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy
Isigny Sainte-Mère and Agrial are the very first major regional companies to announce their respective partnerships with the Normandie 2014 Organising Committee as Official Supporters. St James is also coming on board as Official Licensee and outfitter of the Organising Committee. Their involvement will bring all the benefits associated with an international event of this standing.
26/02/2013 : Appointment of the Vet Services Manager and of the designated Horse Shipping Agent
The year 2013 is looking particularly promising for the Normandie 2014 Organising Committee, thanks to its decision to bolster the team with some very specialist expertise. The veterinarian, Anne Couroucé-Malblanc, has come on board to manage all veterinary and health issues. This appointment was thoroughly well thought out. The Fédération Equestre Internationale was present at every stage of the selection process, from drawing up the criteria of the ideal candidate to the final selection itself. On a slightly different note, another important appointment has also been made. The company Peden Bloodstock has been chosen for the all-important task of transporting horses.
08/01/2013 : On the road to 2014 – the halfway mark!
With the London Olympics well behind us, all eyes are now turning to 2014. In Normandy, the emphasis is on initiatives that will get the whole region into the starting blocks. The focus is on getting the organisational side of things right and thereby guaranteeing the success of the equestrian world’s biggest event.
09/11/2012 : The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy welcomes its artistic and cultural consultant - Bernard Faivre d’Arcier.
The huge celebration being lined up in Normandy from 24 August to 7 September 2014, will showcase equestrian culture and bring together a diverse public. The event’s artistic and cultural consultant, Bernard Faivre d’Arcier, has now come on board the Normandie 2014 Organising Committee. This maestro of the international festival scene brings a wealth of experience with him and his arrival will further enhance the artistic side of the non-sporting events programme. A man of far-reaching culture, whether it be in theatre, dance, cinema or broadcasting, Bernard Faivre d’Arcier has made quite a mark in French and European cultural circles during his fifteen years at the head of the Festival of Avignon. He will be casting an expert eye on proceedings, bringing the ideas and experience necessary so that festivities organised in Normandy fit in with the spirit of the event.

Laurent Beauvais, the President of the GIP (Public Interest Group) of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy and of the Lower Normandy Region congratulated the winners and the organisers of the World Vaulting Championships which finished yesterday at the Pôle Européen du Cheval in Yvré-l’Evêque near Le Mans. Following the European Championships in July which were also organised at the Boulerie Jump facilities by Philippe Rossi, the Vaulting Manager of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, the competition lived up to expectations.

This specialist supplier to the horse world has exclusive rights to manufacture and commercialise EQUI-THEME horse riding products withthe official logo of the games. The clothing and riding equipment created by EKKIA will be available at specialised outlets, at the World Equestrian Games official on-site store and on line via the website.

05/04/2012 : Team spirit to the power of eight : the discipline managers join the sports management department.The Normandie 2014 Organising Committee has been further enhanced by the arrival of equestrian experts whose aim is to put together a sporting organisation worthy of such an event. Appointed to the sports management team, the eight official discipline managers are the key-players in an organisational collaboration starting in May at the Haras Du Pin. As the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy project gains momentum, the Organising Committee is set to test various aspects of its organisation during preparatory events in August 2013. These events, which feature in the national and international calendar, though at a lower level than the main event in 2014, will take place some of the official 2014 Games venues.

At the invitation of the Fédération Internationale d’Equitation, the Normandie 2014 delegation, led by Laurent Beauvais, managing director of the GIP JEM Normandie 2014 and president of the Lower Normandy region, will attend the London Olympic Games Jumping Finals on 8 August 2012.
Following a European call for tenders, the Normandie 2014 Organising Committee has chosen the companies responsible for designing, fitting and maintaining equestrian footings during the event.
From 14 to 16 May 2012, Le Pin National Stud provided the ideal setting for the discipline managers’ first working seminar. The entire team was brought together by Laurent Cellier, the sports director of the Normandie 2014 Organising Committee.
At the invitation of Laurent Beauvais, President of the Normandie 2014 organising committee and of the Lower Normandy Region and in the presence of David Douillet, Minister for Sport, the different actors united in the organization of the World Equestrian Games came together to officially launch the 1000 day countdown to the beginning of the event.
