Friday, August 23, 2013 marks a symbolic date for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2014 in Normandy since the count-down displays "D-365" before the start of the event! To celebrate this important time, the Organizing Committee wanted to highlight the key moments which marked the preparation of the largest equestrian event in the world. A great adventure that officially began four and a half year ago ! We've put on a lot of work since. The though part, but also the most beautiful one, is yet to come!
2008 : Normandy does its very best to win the bidding process
Mars 2009 : Normandy wins the bid and will organize the Games in 2014 !
June - September 2010 : The Normandy 2014 Organising Committee, presided by Laurent Beauvais, and directed by Fabien Grobon, is created.
October 2010 : The French delegation of the Organising Committee goes to Lexington for the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games.
April 2011 : The Games' official Facebook page opens
Juillet 2011 : Alltech (animal heath and nutrition) become the event's title sponsor
November 2011 : D-1000 : the new logo is created
May 2012 : First sports seminar between the FEI Fédération Equestre Internationale and the Organising Committee
March 2013 : Foreign delegations come to Normandy to visit the competitions venues and meet the Organizing Committee
April 2013 : D-500 : the volunteers program is launched and Norman the official mascot makes its debut !
June 2013 : The ticketing office opens for French Federations members and foreign agencies
July 2013 : The new cross-country track is inaugurated at Le Pin National Stud
August 2013 : 3 Test Events (Endurance, Eventing and Driving) are organized on 3 different competition venues in Caen, Sartilly, and Le Pin National Stud
23 August 2013 : D-365 !!! Only 1 year left before the start of the 2014 Games & Launch of a history hub by the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale)
23 August to 7 September 2014 : 15 days of sports excellence in Normandy !
